I found this deep in the programing reddit: Six Degrees of Wikipedia.
The concept: Some crazy fiend downloads the entire (3.5gb of XML) Wikipedia database. Then he does … uh something uh … minimal spanning. Anyway, it’s able to calculate the shorest path.
Example: Dora the Explorer and Fyodor Dostoevsky are two away. There are three jumps between the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and Pokémon. Hell, you can take three clicks to get from the Boxer Rebellion to glass cockpit.
Anyway, turns out it takes 4.5 clicks to get to any article in Wikipedia from any article in Wikipedia.
So now I’ve got nothing to with Wikipedia except use it to locate information. Crap! That isn’t the point at all.
